About Deepsing
Deepsing grew up in Kathmandu, Nepal, and moved to the U.S. in 2014 for undergraduate studies at Bates College, Maine. During his time at Bates, Deepsing worked in the labs of Dr. Paula Schlax and Dr. Jennifer L. Koviach-Côté, studying gene regulation in Borrelia burgdorferi and synthesizing glycan analogs, respectively.
In 2018, Deepsing joined the lab of Dr. Laura Kiessling at MIT to pursue a Ph.D. As a graduate student, he investigated the role of heparan sulfate in the fate decisions of human pluripotent stem cells and worked on elucidating the ligands and functions of intelectin-2 in maintaining mucosal homeostasis. His deep interest in host-microbe interactions has led him to join the Jost Lab in 2024, where he is currently utilizing genomic tools to explore various aspects of these interactions.
Outside of the lab, Deepsing enjoys hiking, reading books, and playing board games.
